How can I surprise my boyfriend on our anniversary?
Carrying out a surprise birthday party, because the more people who know about a surprise, the greater the risk the secret will be leaked. Often, you must start planning the event many weeks before making it even more difficult to keep everything under wraps until the big day.
One way to ensure that your boyfriend will be happy no matter what happens with the surprise party is to include an extra special surprise gift. We’re talking about that “I never expected this AT ALL” kind of gift for him and we have the perfect idea.
Start with why you are giving the gift.
An anniversary gift for a boyfriend is tricky. If you are new to the relationship, say less than three years, it may be too soon to give him the love plaque with your names on it and the date you met. Since you aren’t married, it might be best to stay away from the traditional anniversary gifts. It’s better to make the gift completely about him and something he loves and what makes it special is the fact that you came up with it because that’s how much you care about him.
What’s your gift giving budget?
The first question to answer is what is the amount of money you want to spend? The perfect gift doesn’t have to cost a fortune. It should just be very meaningful to the person you’re giving it to. It’s special because you took the extra time to think of it, buy it and deliver it. So, first things first, figure out how much you can comfortably spend and stick to it. Don’t go overboard because you don’t want it to become an arguing point weeks, months or years down the road, especially if the next gift he gives you isn’t as elaborate as what you are going to give him.
Follow these steps to narrow down to what he will love.
Everyone has things they favor such as a favorite place to visit, favorite color, favorite flower, favorite fragrance, favorite song or favorite phrase. The list can go on forever depending on the person. This is a great place to start when thinking about the perfect surprise gift.
Using the examples above, is there something that stands out? Did that list make you think of another thing that your boyfriend just thinks is the cat’s meow?
When you narrow down to the favorite thing or things, can it be captured in a picture? Does he prefer a specific color?
As an example, let’s say your boyfriend is a music lover or you share a love for the same band or music style. Maybe a dream of his is to see a certain band live in concert.
So, your gift could be to try to get tickets for a concert. You can give him an experience he will remember and cherish.
Now, let’s go back to the budget. If the most you can comfortably spend is $100 to $150, this perfect gift just won’t work out. Alternatively, why not give him the memorable gift that shows you listen, and you really care, plus, it has a really big ‘cool’ factor.
Give him the gift of a picture and soundwave art. The picture is his favorite selfie of you two or a picture taken on a special night and the soundwave could be "your" song or even special message from you.
